A common topic of discussion at work is the comparison and contrast of Ruby and Python. Python is more popular, but Ruby use is growing and it seems to be favored by the OO and patterns crowd.

I am owned by 3 daughters, 1 dog, 2 cats, and my lovely wife. I've been programming professionally for 16+ years; my current employer is Applied Signal Technology. Previously, I developed multi-touch interactive GIS and DB driven systems for critical infrastructure management. (Priority 5) Before that I made games (High Voltage Software) including Flame-Sim (serious game for fire fighter training) GRAW2-PSP, Family Guy (PSP, PS2, Xbox); and Leisture Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (PC, Xbox, PS2). I operate a home network with Linux, OS X, and Windows.
